The only time that would work for Melissa and Michael’s engagement session during their holiday visit home to Vermont was the morning before Christmas Eve. As luck would have it, the weather was, well, yucky. Freezing rain, foggy, wet, cold…but somehow, it was perfect for the most lovely photographs.
We decided to met up Melissa’s parent’s home in Addison County, Vermont. After a few adorable shots of the couple snuggled up in a vintage Pendleton camp blanket, with hot chocolate on the front porch, we headed out the back door and up the trail in the back of the yard. What we walked into was the most magical winter wonderland; the sound of the freezing rain falling, the ice covered trees glittered like perfectly lit Christmas trees, and the snow fog created an amazing backdrop for it all. It was the special kind of day that photographers dream about and we were lucky enough to be out creating photographs together.
I’m so excited to photograph Melissa and Michael’s fall wedding at the Old Lantern Inn and Barn in Charlotte, Vermont. It’s going to be a wonderful day!!
Here are a few of my favorite images from our adventure in the snow fog:
